About Us

Over the next year, we will collect 1000 conversations about reconciliation, healing and residential schools.

Not only do we invite you to participate in a conversation, we encourage you to host one with your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues!

Anyone who wants to host a conversation will receive an information package to help facilitate their conversation. This information package contains:

  • A backgrounder on residential schools;
  • A document containing conversation starters;
  • A DVD containing the stories of two Residential School Survivors; and
  • A copy of the Prime Minister’s Statement of Apology to former students of Indian Residential Schools.

You will also receive a gift acknowledging your participation in this initiative. We will send you:

  • a commemorative pin for each participant in your conversation; and
  • promotional materials from the National Day of Healing and Reconciliation, Legacy of Hope Foundation and Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Contact us for more information or to request your information package to host a conversation!

This is an initiative by National Day of Healing and Reconciliation (a department of the Native Counselling Services of Alberta) and the Legacy of Hope Foundation, supported by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
