# 124 Tansi Friendship Center

  • Attendees: 50-200 people
  • Place: Chetwynd, British Columbia

Please tell us (in detail) about your event/conversation:

Tansi Friendship Center and Moccasin Flats Metis Society would like to hold a friendship round dance.  Invite the Aboriginal people of Dawson Creek, Saulteau First Nations, and West Moberly First Nations to participate.

How will your event/conversation relate to healing and reconciliation?

Round dances are new to the people of our communities. Round dances were a part of our culture many years ago.  We are slow bringing the sound of the drum back to our communities.  When the Residential Schools were taking the children the government outlawed the round dances.  The round dances bring the Elders and people together.
